Some Press for the Showcase this saturday

taken from imposemagazine.com

E4E1: More bands than you can possibly handle at once at the Tamur Records showcase, with Donner Party Picnic, Colour Bük, Tom Blacklung & the Smokestacks, Every Bunny Welcome, Brandon Can’t Dance, Le Rug, Non-Stop, The Timid Roosevelts, Rainbow Party, and Rasputin’s Secret Police at Death By Audio, 49 South 2nd St btwn Kent and Wythe, Williamsburg. All Ages. 8pm doors, $tba.

Tamur Records is loose collective composed of a whole mess of bands scattered around Brooklyn, New Jersey, and maybe everywhere else. The threads are only loosely connected here, but there’s a general messy lo-fi/noise/pop/punk/folk continuum going on that seems well at home in DIY America. Brooklyn’s Le Rug is one of the more cohesively catchy of the bunch, and the only member on the bill that I’d heard before, so this seems like an excellent opportunity to learn about nine other new bands. On quick perusal, some highlights look to be the blazing fuzz-rock of Every Bunny Welcome and the rousing/lurching barroom lilt of Donner Party Picnic, at times like a more thoroughly disheveled Man Man.
